Picking the first apples from our apple tree | This one little apple tree was on the land when we arrived here. The first year, it gave us four apples. This year there are so many we couldn’t count. It was used by enslaved people to poison plantation owners as an act of resistance. The practice of contemporary artist @mswatkiss honours the intergenerational transmission of herbal knowledge like this - knowledge that migrated with people who were enslaved and their descendants.
