Parents of children with additional needs are being left in limbo. The NCSE closed its Parents Notify portal on 1 October, and many families never even knew it existed, let alone that there was a deadline to apply to it. Without the portal, they can’t get the eligibility letter needed to apply for special classes, and there’s still no clear guidance on what families who missed this deadline should do, seven weeks later.
