Today I had a colposcopy and a biopsy. 🙁🙁 This is a public service announcement for all women. Get your Pap smears every single year. No matter what the guidelines say. Things can change. An abnormal Pap smear does not automatically mean cervical cancer. But it does mean — don’t ignore it and don’t wait a year to follow up. Here’s exactly what I would do as an oncology provider if it was my result: ⸻ 1. Understand what “abnormal” actually means There are different levels — ASCUS, LSIL, HSIL, ASC-H.
