I had a 10-13-18 SPL "Street Bop" kit (Guitar Center brand ) that was actually a pretty darn good kit. The kick was a real standout. Had some real "oomph". If you are looking for decent mic's on the cheap, just buy regular SM 57's from guitar center. Get at least two, so you know if one goes bad or sucks to begin with.
The 1981 tour Steve used 16x22” Gretsch bass drums. For the frontiers tour, he changed to a sunburst color, the Gretsch kick drums and the power Tom’s as well the 18 x 24 bass drums that came with the kit originally.
